NEW! Telehealth
Telehealth is an excellent alternative to in-person physiotherapy that can be effectively completed from the safety of your own home.
How Does it Work?
Call our front desk (613-267-6789) or email info@perthphysiotherapy.ca to book your appointment time. You will be sent an email with a unique link that you simply click on at your appointment time. Your physiotherapist will then be able to see and speak with you throughout your session.
An assessment will be completed and home exercises taught and progressed, if required you will be given pain management advice and education on how to speed up your recovery and prevent future problems from arising. At the end of your session, your physiotherapist will send you an email containing images and videos of your unique home exercise program.
Do I need any special equipment?
You will need one of:
-
A computer with a webcam
-
Smart phone
-
I-Pad or tablet that has a camera and a microphone.
It’s a good idea to wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in and ideally have the area being assessed visible, e.g. wear shorts if your main concern is your knee or ankle.
Will my insurance company pay for Virtual Physiotherapy?
How physiotherapy is offered is rapidly changing as we all adapt to providing ongoing services while maintaining physical distancing requirements. Every day more insurance companies are coming onboard to approve virtual physiotherapy. At present, Sunlife, Manulife, Canada Life (formerly Great West Life) and some Blue Cross policies will fund physiotherapy and some will allow direct billing.
